13 MAY 2024: INITIAL CASUALTY CLINIC DATE
18 hours at clinic, review date set for 28 May 2024
Rushed to the clinic by ambulance due to suddenly being unable to move - sever Oedema. Diagnosed and treated for Congestive Heart Failure and Diabetes Type 2 - high sugar. Our complaint about the pain of the pressure sore on her coccyx and the redness and bubbles on her left leg, ignored.
6 Hours at clinic, review date set for 26 June 2024

Doctor reluctantly looked at it after telling me several times he did not have to as he already knew what it was. Follow up date set for one months time.
OVER THE NEXT 13 DAYS
THE LEG SORE RAPIDLY DEVELOPED
Even though I rigidly used their recommended salt water/ bandage protocol with Povidone.
11 JUNE 2024: UNSCHEDULED HOSPITAL CASUALTY VISIT
(Desperate for help due to the rapid progression of the leg wound)
Casualty put her on a 4 antibiotic drip and dressed the wound. They discharged us with an appointment to see the wound care clinic the next day.
Mom was vomiting copiously the next day so I called the clinic, and they said come the next day.
13 JUNE 2024: SCHEDULED WOUND CLINIC VISIT
They treated her after about 2 hours of waiting, vacuum packing the wound dressings in plastic - and sent us home instructing us to visit our local clinic every few days for wound dressing, unless the wound started seeping. If it started seeping I must take Mom to the local clinic as soon as possible.
14 JUNE 2024: UNSCHEDULED TO LOCAL CLINIC
The wound care nurse cut off the vacuumed plastic and a rotting odour nearly knocked me out. She treated it with salt water and wrapped gauze and bandage around it.
We continued faithfully with their recommended appointments but Mom got worse, and weaker and weaker until she could no longer stand and we had no way to carry her into the clinic.
After much discussion, Mom eventually decided to appeal to the public to help us get her treated - please read our blog for daily updates about that.
