SAVE SHEILA'S LIFE CAUSE
Note: During my blogs, you will see that I'll be talking about 3 different government medical facilities; their names will be changed to prevent me from being sued, and prevent interference with a possible future court case.
I will be calling them: Local Hospital 1, Clinic 1 and Clinic 2.
I shouldn't be surprised at God's timeous provision by now - after all, when Allan was battling cancer God opened the windows of heaven and poured out His blessings on us and our household. These blessings continued even after Allan was miraculously and instantly healed of incurable, inoperable bladder cancer overnight. (That is another blog I will be writing soon.)
Once again God is showing His magnificent love and providing what we need for Mom Sheila's needs.
Philippians 4:19
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
As I describe this journey I find myself in a state of hiatus, holding my breath and wondering what the morrow will bring.
Many of you may not be aware of the impact Moms illness has had on our lives; one day we were
thriving in ministry and business. The next day - when Mom was rushed to hospital - everything simply halted.
Literally.
Ministry stopped, business put to one side. No more earning efforts available due to limited time and energy.
I am unable to make any solid plans as I have no idea if Mom will be admitted into hospital tomorrow or not. If she is admitted for a few weeks, we - as a family - will be able to rest and recover from caring from her 24/7.
Maybe we can even return to earning money through our businesses.
However, if she is not admitted, we have to find a way to navigate these harrowing hours of exhaustion, spending hours and hours attending to her physical care; this includes waking up 3 to 5 times a night for various reasons, like body turns, changing leg position due to pain, putting the fan on and putting it off again.
Most of Moms basic health care is done on a low double bed, so you can imagine the back ache and awkward positioning of both patient and carers.
As you know from our previous posts, we have tried for over 3 weeks to get Mom to Local Hospital to be attended to; we believe her wounds are serious and we are concerned they may develop into Gangrene or Sepsis.
Despite our best efforts, we have been unable to get her to the Local Hospital (see this post).
So that is where we found ourselves today.
But God.
(Isn't He just an incredible Person?)
God brings people into our lives for a reason and a season.
Today, two wonderful provisions were given to us.
Provision 1
First of all, the volunteer nurses organised a FREE Hospital Bed to be donated to us from Hospice South Coast. They delivered it today - and wow, what a fantastic bed! It is a 3 crank bed in excellent condition. Thanks to Ray from Hospice who organised the delivery, and thanks to James Sishuba and Henry Browne who not only delivered it but demonstrated how to use it.
Mom loves it - and it's much easier to deal with her physical care as we can adjust the height of the bed, move it around as needed and it has rails to prevent Mom falling out of the bed.
Provision 2
Thank you to Debbie Conlon from Restoring U (a very special friend) who told me about an organisation called Med-Evac; they
help with emergency transportation to hospitals as part of one of their policies with a small monthly fee.
I immediately contacted them and explained Moms urgent need to be assessed by Local Hospital to see if she is suitable for admission. I opened an account with them and they agreed to transport Mom to Local Hospital and back tomorrow!!
PRAISE GOD, HIS MERCIES ENDURE FOREVER!!!!
The time has been set and we are all ready to finally hear if they will admit her or not and what our next steps will be.
God is wonderful, in one day He sorted out two major issues for us!
Watch this space - I will post an update as soon as I can tomorrow.
Blessings
From Christine Livingstone
